    Why are we allowed to tip restaurant staff, but not health care workers? First of all, health care workers make a lot more money than wait staff, so they don’t rely on tips to supplement their income. Second, health care workers are expected to treat everyone the same, regardless of wealth. Giving them tips would imply that you expect preferential treatment. And, if you feel that the care you were given merits a tip, do they not all have name tags? After you are released from the hospital, simply go back with a gift, and ask for miss/mr X
