28 year old Alice Alves is a dancer at the Portela Samba School in Western Rio and a veterinary graduate specialising in wild animals. Her pet named Baby is a giant pig who lives in her backyard.

The mother of this baby rhino was shot by poachers. Now it lives in a guesthouse in Zimbabwae which is run by husband and wife team Roger and Anne Whittall.

An 18-year-old grizzly bear Billy lives with a Vancouver family as a pet. His favorite food is jam and he loves swimming in the backyard pool.

Yuki was bred in captivity and sold to be kept as a pet in North Carolina. As a puppy, he had several different owners and was abused. He was abandoned and was going to be euthanized at an animal shelter because they can’t adopt out wolves. Instead, Shy Wolf Sanctuary in Naples, FL, where I volunteer, rescued him and he lives there with a wolfdog named Bella. Yuki loves women, showing off to visitors, and being super goofy. Please remember, wolves are highly awesome but do not want to be your pet.

In Cambodia a boy has a pet python. When the boy was only 3 years old his dad found the python in their house. He took the snake back to the woods but it came back on the next day. And the python stayed as the family’s pet.

A South African farmer Marius Els used to have a pet hippo Humphrey.

This is the most unusual pet I have ever seen. The capybara is related to the guinea pig. It is the world’s largest living rodent.
