When tattooing your eyeball goes very, very wrong

There are a handful of moments in life where one looks back and blows the dust off of a catalog labelled “What was I thinking?” For the average person, lists of deranged exes, drunken nights of debauchery, and perhaps the occasional style faux-pas litters their catalog. For Cat Gallinger, eyeball tattoo might be bolded and double underlined.

Eyes are beautiful. Why oh why would anyone ever want to ruin that? Well, the procedure is known as Scleral Tattooing and it involves injecting ink into the white part of your eye in order to colour it.

There aren’t many things that I can think of at the moment that are as cringy as a needle to the eye ball. So, you’ve got to give her some credit, she’s a tough girl. Unfortunately, things didn’t go very well for Catt.

She shared these photos to Facebook with the caption:

“This was caused by undiluted ink, over injection, not enough/smaller injections sights. There are multiple people who can attest that my aftercare was good and any other part of what I am saying.”

“I have been to the hospital three times, I had no furry pets to cause any dander, and I wash my hands every time I do anything with my eye, both before and afterwards.”

“Just please be cautious who you get your mods from and do your research. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.”

This is her on October 1st- four weeks since she had the procedure. She’s still going to eye doctors in the hopes of saving her vision, but she still sees double and deals with significant pain. Let this be a lesson, folks!
