Famous for its iconic win at The Oscars, Parasite is a South Korean movie that gained worldwide success for its dark comedy and politically-conscious plot.

The movie follows the Kim family, one that comes from the poorer area of an unnamed city in modern-day South Korea. Struggling to make ends meet and trying to find employment, the son, Ki-woo gets a job tutoring the daughter of the rich Park family. Soon enough, the entire Kim family gains employment with the Park family. The father becomes a driver, the mother the cook, and the daughter a tutor.

After the Park family goes away for the weekend, the Kim family moves into the extravagant home, taking on the wealthier life they have been dreaming about for so long – which is where the movie starts to take a turn.

This Korean movie is a modern classic for a reason, with an interesting take on the divide between the rich and poor, the suspenseful movie is extremely enjoyable to watch.

The Truman Show

Have you ever felt like you’re living in a TV show? Well, this is the reality for the fictional character Truman who is unknowingly the main character of a show watched by millions of people around the world.

Every morning he wakes up, speaks to his wife, and goes to work, without knowing that he is living on a TV set and every person he encounters is a paid actor. As the viewer, you’re able to see extras preparing their lines, obvious product placement, and sets being made in real-time – all while poor Truman is none the wiser.

The movie starts to get interesting when Truman begins to notice some odd happenings, leading him to suspect that there is more to his perfect life than he once thought. Almost Famous

There are plenty of people who wish that they could have grown up in the 70s to experience the hippy revolution and the origins of some of the best bands of all time.
