I repurposed a lot of the materials from my first shelter. I also hung my jacket in the entrance as I slept and I was warm all night. </b></p>

<p><b> Keepin’ it simple.</b></p>

<p><b>A fireplace with a chimney I built from mud to my cozy cave.</b></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1563307" src="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/4-5.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="450" srcset="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/4-5.jpg 600w, https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/4-5-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>

<p><b>Torch I made out of fatwood.</b></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1563309" src="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/6-4.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/6-4.jpg 600w, https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/6-4-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/6-4-150x150.jpg 150w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p><b> Wanted to share a shot of my go-to spot that I&#8217;ve been working on for a while. It’s a simple raised-bed design with a tarp roof, but it&#8217;s incredibly comfortable and keeps me off the damp ground. It&#8217;s become the perfect place to practice skills and just enjoy the quiet.</b></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1563310" src="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/7-4.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="800" srcset="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/7-4.jpg 600w, https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/7-4-225x300.jpg 225w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p><b>So this is my second camp in my amateur bushcrafting journey, this time with a different hut, the structure consists of 3 logs, the main one being the thickest, I carved out joints with a chisel for a tight fit, also the 2 main supporting logs hammered in the ground for extra stability, the whole structure can hold at least 2 people hanging from it.</b></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1563311" src="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/8-4.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="643" srcset="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/8-4.jpg 600w, https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/8-4-280x300.jpg 280w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p><b>More camping knife skills practice.</b></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1563312" src="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/9-4.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="800" srcset="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/9-4.jpg 600w, https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/9-4-225x300.jpg 225w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p><b>Made a small camp axe/tomahawk from an old leaf spring, and some knives from sawzall blades.</b></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1563313" src="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/10-4.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="450" srcset="https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/10-4.jpg 600w, https://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/10-4-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>

<p><b>Had fun making the door. Had to baton split a long length of timber so I could use the flat side for the bracing. Used heavy duty farm gate hinges. Should slow down the bears!</b></p>

<p><b>Fire bans s***s, it is in our instincts to sit by the fire, to create it, it&#8217;s a sacred ritual! I have a stove but only for emergencies, fire laws are very relaxed here and I&#8217;m very glad.</b></p>
