It wasn’t a human war, but an animal one.

In the middle of Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park, there formed an epic battle. Two vicious tribes clashed, starting a war that photographer Marc Mol was lucky to witness.

Blood was shed and the warriors fought for their lives. It was a battle of epic proportions… and beasts.

A herd of hippos attacked a swarming pit of crocodiles after they killed one of their own.

Soon, however, the herd realized they couldn’t help their fallen friend.

Leaving the snarling reptiles to their feast.

But seeing this scene from above?

Those hippos had a fighting chance.

Life goes on.

But maybe not for long…
