Chiles’ journey to this moment has been marked by resilience. Following a gold medal win with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, she faced the disappointment of being stripped of her individual bronze medal due to a scoring dispute.

Despite this setback, Chiles continued to excel, winning the NCAA uneven bars championship for UCLA and releasing her memoir, “I’m That Girl,” in March 2025. [source]

In an interview with PEOPLE, Chiles opened up about her past struggles with self-image, revealing that she once considered herself “ugly” daily.

Her appearance on the SI Swimsuit cover symbolizes a personal transformation and a celebration of self-love. “I’ve embraced every single aspect of who I am and I’ve embraced the amazing body that I have,” she stated. [source]

Chiles joins fellow cover stars Salma Hayek, Olivia Dunne, and Lauren Chan in the 2025 edition, which highlights women who inspire change and bring passion to their roles. The issue will be available on newsstands starting May 17.
