Dogs are more than pets, they’re members of our family and faithful companions.

They love us unconditionally, asking for nothing in return. No one had to teach them to love, they just seem to know how to instinctually. So when this six year old’s best friend was nearing the end and all around him were saddened by the tragedy of a dog’s short life, his explanation was the most tear-jerking thing I’ve ever heard. It’ll break your heart.

Little else is more beautiful than the loyalty and love of the dogs in our lives. That’s why nothing breaks my heart more than to see one pass away. But remembering what Shane said will help bring a smile to my face in the days to come when my little one is laid to rest.
