<p style="text-align: center;">The juxtaposition of natural imagery (the tree branches) and traditional art pieces is stunning. It’s difficult to know what to say about these pieces other than this: WOW.</p>
<p><span id="more-96474"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Even if analyzing art isn’t a passion of yours, it’s difficult not to enjoy this art by Valerie Hegarty. She creates that which is being destroyed, and it is absolutely beautiful. The “decaying paintings” she constructs can speak to almost anyone (even if you’re not sure what they are saying exactly).</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">It’s difficult not to have an almost instantaneous reaction to her art.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="nasty-paintings" src="http://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/images/2013/01/nasty-paintings/02-nasty-paintings.jpg" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">There is something there…</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="nasty-paintings" src="http://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/images/2013/01/nasty-paintings/03-nasty-paintings.jpg" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">An imagery or feeling…</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="nasty-paintings" src="http://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/images/2013/01/nasty-paintings/04-nasty-paintings.jpg" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">That almost anyone can identify with.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="nasty-paintings" src="http://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/images/2013/01/nasty-paintings/05-nasty-paintings.jpg" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">It’ll be difficult to look at modern art the same way again.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="nasty-paintings" src="http://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/images/2013/01/nasty-paintings/06-nasty-paintings.jpg" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Because this is pretty mind-blowing.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="nasty-paintings" src="http://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/images/2013/01/nasty-paintings/07-nasty-paintings.jpg" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Her “decaying paintings” are both new and old…</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="nasty-paintings" src="http://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/images/2013/01/nasty-paintings/08-nasty-paintings.jpg" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Beautiful, yet hideous.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="nasty-paintings" src="http://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/images/2013/01/nasty-paintings/09-nasty-paintings.jpg" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="nasty-paintings" src="http://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/images/2013/01/nasty-paintings/10-nasty-paintings.jpg" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" alt="nasty-paintings" src="http://www.barnorama.com/wp-content/images/2013/01/nasty-paintings/11-nasty-paintings.jpg" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">If you’d like to discover more pieces by this New York artist, check out her online portfolio. For the past decade, she has been working on creating some truly spectacular artwork, all focusing on destruction rather than creation. Her work is so unique, please share it.</p>
