Eight weeks ago, more than 200 girls were kidnapped from their school in Nigeria. Their crime according to their captors? Receiving an education.

Each of these students has family. Families tortured by the absence of their daughters.

They have goals and dreams that are put on hold as they continue endure this tragedy everyday. Gordon Brown, reporter for the Daily Mail, recently travelled to Chibok, Nigeria, the town that the girls were taken from. There he met with their community leader. While the police and Army have had little luck in finding a rescue solution, this community leader has compiled his own file of 185 pages detailing everything he can find on the missing girls.

One page for every girl. He includes a photograph, the girl’s name, her school grade and date of abduction.

For the 19 other missing girls, he hasn’t been able to find photographs…yet. But there is no doubt that he will. His dedication to each and every one of these poor girls is as heartwarming as it is inspiring. He doesn’t want any face to be forgotten.

Education activist Malala Yousafzai once said, “Extremists have shown what frightens them the most: a girl with a book.” History, sadly, seems to be constantly repeating itself.
