Someone made cornbread fired chicken cake with mashed potato frosting and gravy drippings…Where to I sign my life away to eat this?

The cake is the creation of Los Angeles-based baker Bree Miller, aka Bree’s Cakes, who says she got challenged to make the cake from a friend who had seen a photo of something similar.

“He texted me a photo of a dish that was more like a casserole and asked if I thought I could recreate something like it with my own twist,” Miller says. “I was like, ‘heck yeah. Challenge accepted.’”

To make this beast, Miller baked the cornbread like she would a normal cake, and then iced it with the mashed potatoes, using her trusty angled spatula, when the potatoes were still hot.

“I just treated the potatoes like they were buttercream icing,” Miller says. “It was difficult because I couldn’t touch the cake because it was burning hot. I also had to move really fast because once the mashed potatoes started to cool, they started to fall off the cake.”

To make the dish look more cake-like, Miller added borders by putting the potatoes in a piping bag and drizzled gravy down the sides. Miller first made it for her family, and then shared with her friend, rapper The Game, who suggested she add macaroni and cheese and candied yams.

“The cake morphed into three layers of cornbread with a layer of candied yams and a layer of macaroni and cheese, which was still iced with mashed potatoes and topped with fried chicken. I dubbed it The Soul Cake. It tastes awesome. It’s like a whole meal in a slice of cake. I’ve gotten a lot of mixed feelings about it, but if you have all those foods touching on a plate, you’re going to eat them together. I think people were confused because it looked like a cake, but it’s not dessert.”

Hopefully this isn’t foreshadowing for the honeymoon.

“Screw it, let’s just have pie instead.”

Eh, close enough.

Nailed it.

“Just buy a nice topper and no one will notice how shitty the cake-part is…”

“Our love is like a cone that’s slowly turning blue… or something.”

“I asked for a sand castle, not a dirty phallus covered in sea shells.”

Obviously this was the last attempt by the groom to trick his bride-to-be into admitting she isn’t a virgin.

“Do you have anything that says: we met while getting arrested for graffitiing a rubber duck factory?”

“Quick… how do I salvage this disaster?!”

Jabba the… what?

They left off the part about the pat-down and strip-search by the TSA.

This cake-maker didn’t even try.

“Love. Faith. Hope. Thrust. Love. Faith. Hope. Thrust….”

Nothing says “true love” like a pile of tires, I guess?

“I want a cake that looks like me, so you’ll know that’s the last piece of ass you’ll ever enjoy”

“I want something grander than all your other cakes combined”

Nothing like drawing your wedding cake inspiration from the Eye of Sauron.

Even Salvador Dali would find this a little disappointing.

What the hell is going on here…

“I want a cake depicting my new husband falling off a cliff to his death.”

The three frostingless fruitcakes of eternal devotion.

The empty Bud Light cans were a nice touch.

Everything was going so well for Patrick the Baker. But then the acid started to kick in…

I didn’t realize they made cakes for “shooting your husband so you can run off with a deer.”

“Ok so here’s what we want for our wedding: I want a cake that looks like an 8-year-old designed it, and then promptly sat on it.”

For some reason unbeknownst to me, people make weddings out to be this big serious occasion. Yes, committing your life to someone else is a big deal, but it doesn’t have to be so stiff and boring. It’s your wedding day — you are allowed to laugh and show off your individuality. What better way to do that than with a simple touch like your wedding cake topper?

It’s impossible to be knowledgable about everything in life, it’s true. If you want to be a master in your field, you need to spend 10,000 hours honing your craft. Even if you want to be a jack-of-all-trades, you have to put some effort into what you do.

Basically, you have to do the opposite of what these people are doing. They have floated through life, having no idea of what’s going on around them. The result of that? Some absolutely hilarious pictures, immortalizing their stupidity.

This girl thought Billy Ray Cyrus was Kurt Cobain.

This teacher had no idea what those “hats” looked like.

This church, who apparently had no young members to point out what “WTF” meant.

This guy who had no idea what was happening to him.

This woman, who thought a squirrel was a good murder weapon.

This mother who is pretty clueless about her daughter’s late-night activities.

This commenter who didn’t quite “get it.”

This teacher and her oddly placed balloons.

This children’s site’s ability to detect awful usernames.

This cat (and his owner who is apparently way too bored).

This show that had no idea it messed up the countries’ flags.

This woman who thought she’d go for a nice workout at the gym.

This guy (the only one on the cheer squad).

(OMG.)

This guy behind Neil Patrick Harris… and on camera.

This awesome mom from Texas.

This extra sweeping air.

This failed stoner.

This group of drunk guys that thought they met Pitbull.

This really, really gullible girl.

This absolutely normal day for Gary Busey.

Kyle was a giant KFC fan…

For Kyle Stockton’s birthday, his wife Laura wanted to do something extra special for him. To make sure it was a birthday he would always remember, she decided to create something in the kitchen he would never forget. She’s quite the chef in the kitchen and Kyle was blown away by what she came up with.
She got the idea from her two sons, Josh and Harry. For them, it was a no brainer. Their dad loved KFC, so they thought his treat should be KFC-themed. What Laura was able to make was a work of art.

So much so, his wife baked him a bucket of chicken for his birthday.

But it wasn’t REALLY chicken.

It was a delicious, delicious cake.

Mind = blown.

Laura never imagined that the Internet would go wild over her cake. After all, she hasn’t been trained in making cakes. Now, she is inspired by its popularity to start a baked goods business (with hopefully more awesome cakes). It’s hard to tell if this cake is savory or sweet, but one thing is certain: it’s making me hungry.
