Out of their animated worlds and into ours.

1. What is Jasmine doing in the club?

2. Why are Lady Tremaine, Drizella, and Anastasia walking to the ball?

They’re there because that’s where Harry McNally put them.

3. McNally is a photographer, and for his “Moments Like This” series he superimposes Disney characters (like Cinderella) on to 35mm photographs.

4. This image of Alice lost in the New York subway system (“Which Way Is Up”) was the first in the series.

5. Suddenly Mickey becomes a janitor….

6. …and Gus Gus gets drunk.

7. What kind of prescription could Snow White be taking?

Maybe the poisoned apple left permanent damage.

8. Without a pumpkin coach, Cinderella is forced to take the subway.

9. How does he match up each character and photograph (like Ariel and this bedroom scene) so perfectly?

McNally played it coy and told BuzzFeed Life that “the ideas come to me in my sleep.”

10. Although he’s marvelous at creating these moments melding fantasy and reality, McNally said he has never been a huge Disney fan (sorry, Peter Pan).

“However, I grew up with two sisters, so I was exposed to a lot of these films. Sometimes unwillingly. I am seeing a therapist now.”

11. Cogsworth is not impressed with this display, but if *you* are, you can buy prints of McNally’s work here.

Jedi Ariel
DeviantART user Ralph Sevelius, who goes by the name Pushfighter has created some truly amazing works of art. Here we see Ariel as a jedi warrior.

Sith Eliza
And Eliza as a Sith. She does seem like she could be turned to the Dark Side.

Carbonite frozen Aurora
It makes a lot of sense that Sleeping beauty would be frozen in Carbonite. This one is perfect.

 Slave Princess Jasmine
And Jasmine was already rocking a very similar outfit to Princess Leia when she was enslaved.

Sith Snow White
Snow White should have never taken a bite of that apple! That’s what sent her to the Dark side we’re sure!

Bounty Hunter Mulan
Mulan > Boba Fett. There we said it.

 Padawan Rapunzel
Much to learn Rapunzel has. But her hair would make an awesome weapon! Make sure to check out more of Ralp’s great work on his DeviantART Page.

Paul Ryan as Copper
Sad face is really just a puppy face.

Chris Christie as Baloo
He’s got the figure and voice to boot!

Chuck Hagel as Akela
Hagel is a tad more haggard, no?

 John Boehner as Kaa
Kaa is less awkward.

 John McCain as Mr. Busy
An unfortunate but uncanny resemblance.

Nancy Pelosi as Lady
Pelosi is slightly less pampered.

Hillary Clinton as Mother Rabbit
Have we really come to see Madame Clinton as maternal?

Joe Biden as Sebastian
He’s just as fun.

 Rand Paul as Lumiere
Maybe Paul could use a tan…

Elizabeth Warren as Giddy the Elephant
We think Warren got the vote for the cutest doppelgänger!

Lindsey Graham as Flower
Similarly, he’s much more harmful than he looks.

Dianne Feinstein as Big Mama
Big Mama indeed! Feinstein was the first woman to have presided over a presidential inauguration!

Marco Rubio as Panic
At least Rubio keeps his cool.

Cory Booker as Rajah
Can’t help but imagine the sound effect for this pair!

Rahm Emanuel as Timon
We hope his ideas are as good as Timon’s…

“Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.”

It’s been well over a year since Pixar released Monsters University. It’s safe to say we’ve all had some serious withdrawals.

After the recent teaser trailer launched from the studio for their 15th feature film Inside Out, we’re now very excited for what’s in store come the summertime.

And now come the inevitable stages of waiting for Pixar’s new film to be released.

The first time you hear about the new slate of upcoming Pixar films during a big press event.

The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs? OK, I don’t care what the title is going to be, color me excited!

Finally discovering the title of each film and what it’s going to be about.

IT’S ONLY FOUR YEARS AWAY. LET THE COUNT DOWN BEGIN.

When the cast list is released and the voice talent taunts us as they continue to talk about the project.

TELL ME MORE.

The release date for their newest film is announced.

OK, baby. SOON.

You start watching previous Pixar films in preparation, even though it’s months away.

And all the behind the scenes footage on the DVDs.

Then you start feeling incredibly frustrated and impatient.

You don’t know what to do with your time.

You find solace with other people who have a deep love for Pixar and animation.

You follow all of the Pixar employees on Twitter so you never miss a thing.

As soon as new merchandise is released in stores you buy EVERYTHING.

One day my office will look like John Lasseter’s. One day.

You buy tickets for the midnight release of the film weeks in advance.

You try to avoid all the spoilers.

But you can’t stop watching the new trailers.

The premiere is ALMOST here. It’s time to make a detailed plan of the big day.

You FINALLY see it in cinemas.

Not to mention falling in love with the short film that accompanies every feature.

The feels. Oh the feels.

You stay to watch the credits, of course.

Giving thanks to all the wonderful people who were a part of the film.

You’re obsessed with the film for days after seeing it.

You definitely see it more than once in theaters.

You make sure to bring different friends or family with you each time, especially if they have yet to see it.

When the film is no longer playing in cinemas, you realize that you have to repeat all the exhausting stages in anticipation for next year’s new Pixar film.

At least you have one new film to add to your Pixar collection, right?

The janitors there aren’t just janitors.

At Disney World, even the janitors are magical. As a janitor (a.k.a., a custodial guest) at Disney World, this girl gets to help keep the happiest place on earth nice and tidy. She sweeps the streets… but she can do much more than just that. She and the other members of her custodial guest team can do quite a special trick for the other guests at the park.
Just give them a mop and bucket, and you’ll see.3

They can “paint” Disney characters using just a bucket of water and a broom or mop.

Each of them can draw about 15-20 characters.

“Sometimes for fun, we would go up against each other in “drawing battles” and let the audience decide who wins.”

Practice makes perfect! “I once visited Disneyland, and saw the local custodians doing water art and I asked if I could try. They didn’t know I was from Disney World…”

After dark, she would practice different characters.

Like Simba here!

Stitch was a frequently requested character.

As were all of the Disney classics, like Donald Duck.

Lady, her favorite character, wasn’t too popular with the younger generation.

Many janitors had their own “signature characters” that other custodians wouldn’t draw, like Mike from Monsters Inc.

Or Carl from Up.

Even though many of the employees at Disney World were seasonal or temporary, they enjoyed embracing their roles there and learning as many characters to draw as they could. Hundreds of people would gather to watch them create water art… it’s an amazing part of the job!

Bambi … if the hunters won.

Disney movies are all about fairytales, happy endings and being filled with warm, fuzzy feelings after you watch them. They’re they perfect way to improve your mood. You have to admit though, if you look beyond the talking animals and magic, the endings are still pretty unrealistic.
That’s why Nickelodeon storyboard animator Jeff Hong decided to put a little twist on the Disney movies we all know and love. His Tumblr is called Unhappily Ever After and he draws out realistic endings for Disney movies. They’re a lot darker than what you’re familiar with (and it’s awesome).

The Little Mermaid … if the oceans weren’t as friendly and clean.

Mulan … if she had to fight off disease and pollution.

Pocahontas … if her family survived the Trail of Tears.

The Princess and the Frog … if historically accurate.

Dumbo … if he was in a real circus.

Chicken Little … if he was in a world where people ate chickens.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame … if street living in the city was realistic.

Something has been hiding in countless animated movies that you have watched by Disney and Pixar. You have probably seen it time and time again without ever realizing it: A113.

This combination of a letter and numbers has been appearing in animated movies for years. Don’t believe it? An online movie enthusiast was scouring through these movies to find examples and came up with plenty from both Pixar and Disney movies. The hidden message is everywhere.

The plate on Andy’s mom’s car in Toy Story.

A box in A Bug’s Life.

This camera in Finding Nemo.

The coordinates of Mr. Incredible’s cell in The Incredibles.

On different vehicles in Cars.

An ear tag in Ratatouille.

The code for Abandon Earth protocol in Wall-E.

The courtroom number in Up.

On even more vehicles in Cars 2.

Engraved in Roman numerals in Brave.

On this door in Monster’s University.

And then… in Lilo & Stitch.

The Iron Giant.

The Princess and the Frog.

The Brave Little Toaster.

American Dad.

The Simpsons.

The Avengers.

And it all refers to something so simple.

A113 simply refers to the classroom number where many animators learned their craft. A113 refers to a classroom number at the California Institute of Arts. This room was used for first year graphic design and character animation, where many of the animators at Pixar and Disney (and other studios) were taught. By putting “A113″ somewhere in the film, these animators are able to give a nod to the other people doing what they do. And that’s awesome.
Try to find the numbers in the next animated movie you watch. Chances are, you will. Share this neat hidden message with others.
