Broadcast network NBC News was able to find the man and ask him a few questions. He said “I’ve done this many times, but this is the one that got out.”
When he was asked why he specifically wanted to help out a single mother he answered: “I grew up with a single mother of six. We were poor and homeless a lot. I watched and suffered for years as I watched her work her hands to the bone to give us a good life. She raised us to be kind and help others. Many years down the road, I was facing prison and getting in trouble. It ended up causing me to lose my family because I was a really terrible person.”
He has changed his life for the better since and now runs a successful business and this is his way to “pay it back.”

Nintendo super fan Kjetil Nordin spent 6 years knitting this incredibly intricate blanket dedicated to the over world in Super Mario Bros. 3.

Just how dedicated was he to accurately depicting his favorite game in yarn?

“The hardest thing has been to accept that it took such a long time,” Nordin told NRK. “I’ve spent 800 hours crocheting and many hours researching and searching for the correct yarn.

“When the water was half way finished I saw that I had chosen the wrong shade of blue. It was almost purple, and very ugly, so I had to undo all of it. That took an extra week.”

In total he says he spent 800 hours working on the monument to his fandom.
