But that doesn’t mean you didn’t also spend every other waking moment bugging your parents for your own pool.

We can only imagine that José Adimilson Franco’s children did just that…until he finally gave in. But only on his terms. An in-ground pool can cost a pretty penny, so instead of going super deluxe, he did this.

Trust us, you’re going to want to do this, too!
First, he bought an upright pool and set it up.

But that wasn’t enough! In an effort to hide the pool’s frame, he built a frame out of two-by-fours around the pool.

Cover the frame with planks of wood and stain the deck to your desired color.

He added stairs for easy access. You can even turn this into a mini porch!

So who’s ready to make a trip to Home Depot to get started? An in-ground pool can put you out thousands of dollars, but not this bad boy!

These people got creative when it came to making their own solar powered hot tub. They used a kiddie pool and some other items that most people wouldn’t normally consider when putting a hot tub together. Lucky for them, it worked out perfectly.

The pool opened in December 2006.

Have you ever thought your backyard or public swimming pool was just too darned small? Maybe it’d be nice to have something a little bigger? How does half a mile long pool sound? What about a deep end that’s 135 feet? Yeah, that’s what I thought.

The San Alfonso del Mar is a private resort in Algarrobo, Chile that boasts the world’s largest swimming pool. Not a bad attraction tourist attraction. The pool is 0.6 miles long covering 20 acres in total. At any given time it contains around 66,000,000 gallons of filtered seawater from the Pacific Ocean.

It currently holds the Guinness World Record for largest pool in the world by area.

That water. Just wow.

The pool cost an estimated $1.5 to $2 billion to build.

The water filtration system alone cost about $3.5 million.

I’m not sure what’s going on here, but I want to join in.

Google maps aerial view of the pool.

Annual maintenance for the pool costs about $4 million.

If you get sick of the pool (not likely) you can go to the beach.

Have you ever wanted to go sailing in a pool? Now you can.

The pool water is about 16°F warmer than the ocean.

A pond like this would be beautiful and serene.

Preparing your house and property for the summer months can be a daunting task, especially if you need to perform maintenance on your pools or decks. During the spring, some families even decide to add some new features to their yards to be enjoyed in the warmer months.
The pond you see below would be a refreshing and beautiful addition to any home during the summer. With the help of David Pagan Butler, many families are finding a new way to add fun features to their yard.

Not only that, but it attracts amazing wildlife to the yard.

Imagine reclining by this cool water.

And then swimming in it!

What makes David’s ponds so special is that they are actually something called Organic Pools. These are natural swimming pools that allow the growth of wildlife and are environmentally friendly.
“The nutrient level in an organic pool is carefully restricted so competition for the limiting nutrient (usually phosphorous) is fierce. In these circumstances, pond plants outperform algae, keeping it suppressed and barely hanging in at the margins. A pond, low in nutrients, is a healthy environment for wildlife. An organic pool is teeming with life.”

The organic pools are created in such a way so that they are safe to swim in, but don’t restrict plant growth.

In fact, the plants and animals that are attracted to the pond stop the growth of algae.

You can purchase guides that help you build your own organic swimming pools.

One of the most important things to remember is that the water is still completely clean and hygienic.

This isn’t your average pool.

If done correctly, the water will be drinking water quality AND benefits the wildlife.

If you have enough space on your property, build an Organic Pool. Not only will you be helping the local wildlife and creating a peaceful place for you and your family to relax… but you’ll be the only person for miles around with a pool like this.
