This list of the best selling comics of the past 15 years consolidates each series into the best-selling title they have.

Death of Wolverine #1, 274,000 copies
The passing of the most popular X-Men character was a huge event, spawning its own spin-off book just for Logan’s death and the consequences of it.

All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder #1, 276,000 copies
This new line of the Dark Knight’s story paired together the best two in the comic business at the time, Jim Lee and Frank Miller.

Uncanny Avengers #1, 305,900 copies
The beginning of the crossover between the X-Men and the Avengers sold to more than 300k fans.

Rocket Raccoon #1, 311,000 copies
But the little striped motor mouth of the Avengers outsold his full gang, even with the benefit of the X-Men. The success of the film certainly didn’t hurt it.

Captain America (Civil War Epilogue) #25, 317,700 copies
The death of the Cap, and the replacement of his character by Winter Soldier and old friend Bucky Barnes, made this one of Marvel’s recent blockbusters.

Justice League of America #1, 326,000 copies
The relaunch of the Justice League under the banner of The New 52, executed by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee, outsold every other DC title that was rebooted alongside it.

Civil War #2, 341,856 copies
The unmasking of Spider-Man sold this issue in droves, and the first three Civil War issues totaled over a million copies sold.

The Walking Dead #100, 384,000 copies
The indie book developed a huge following before the television show, but skyrocketed after the premiere. This issue featured one of the book’s worst baddies and some brutal developments.

The Amazing Spider-Man #1, 559,200 copies
The return of Peter Parker lands the 2014 relaunch of Spider-Man at over half a million copies, outselling #583, which featured the President in its story.

Star Wars #1, 985,976 copies
The launch of this ultra-title from Marvel in January dwarfed every comic book issue since 2000, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

Archie Andrews
In a shock move, the all-American kid was recently gunned down while protecting a friend and recently elected gay senator from an assassination attempt. For a guy whose biggest problem previous to this was what malt flavor to order, this was some pretty heavy stuff.

Phoenix
Jean Grey has had more deaths in print than almost any character, but the most striking death was when she offed herself in front of Cyclops order to save the world from the wrath of Phoenix.

The Flash (Barry Allen)
In a world where deaths don’t stick too often, Barry Allen stayed dead for more than 20 years. The Flash’s death in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths “run sets the scene for his nephew and sidekick Wally West to take over as the Flash for a long time.

Bucky Barnes
The future Winter Soldier stayed dead even longer than Barry Allen. The Cap’s sidekick was killed in 1968 while trying to disarm a bomb, and didn’t see another appearance until 2005.

Superman
The death and rebirth game is played pretty often, but everyone was surprised that they would do it with Superman. They even kept him dead for a full year before giving him a glorious return.

Gwen Stacy
Spider-man had a hard run already, losing his parents and his uncle, so to kill off his true love is pretty brutal. But Gwen bit the dust in 1970, setting the stage for an epic grudge with the Green Goblin.

Supergirl
This was a significant death, because Superman’s cousin was at the peak of her popularity when she was offed during the same era that The Flash met his maker.

Robin (Jason Todd)
The Joker killed Batman’s sidekick on the page, but in reality he was killed by the fans, who voted by 1-900 number to let Robin expire as opposed to pull through and continue on.

Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
Dr. Octopus claims Spidey in issue #700, although they backtracked on his death pretty quickly after the series was re-launched.

Alexandra DeWitt
She wasn’t the biggest name in comics, but she suffered one of the most graphic deaths in history. The Green Lantern’s girlfriend was strangled, mangled, and stuffed into Lantern’s refrigerator by Major Force. But if you think that prevented her from being brought back, think again.

Pond’s new fictionalized comic diary shows what it’s like to work at a punky 70’s Oakland diner. ‘Over Easy’ comes out with Drawn & Quarterly at bookstores on April 15.

You start at the bottom.

But beg for the job nonetheless.

To bussers and dishwashers, the waitstaff are the stars of the restaurant.

The kitchen’s always spying on the floor.

And waitstaff gets punished for the kitchen’s blunders.

Everyone knows the entire sexual biographies of their coworkers—

—As well their hopes and insecurities—

—Professional stress, and drug habits.

Brunch shifts are a nightmare.

The growth of kitchen filth deserves its own Newtonian law.

Waitress’ perk: eating beyond your means.

This is your dispersion tactic at closing hour:

And at closing time:

Being promoted to waiter/waitress at a prime hour is a momentous occasion.

The book comes out with Drawn & Quarterly on April 15. By the way, the Imperial Cafe is still open as Mama’s Royal in Oakland.
