Everything started when Brandon’s mother, Kirsty Green, had placed her car keys in the boot while she was loading the vehicle with groceries. Her son pushed down the central locks inside the car, and there was no way she could get him out.

“I was a bit panicky at first, wondering how I was going to get him out”, Brandon’s mother, Kirsty Green, told Daily Mail. “Luckily a few other shoppers quickly came to help me out, and one lady <…> phoned 101.”

The rescue crews from Bude Community Fire Station, Cornwall, England, quickly arrived at the scene and started using small hand tools on the car to free Brandon. The toddler was loving every second of it and couldn’t stop smiling. However, he then found a two pence coin inside the car and put it into his mouth.

“That’s when I started to panic,” Green said. “I thought, ‘Oh God, what if he chokes on it.’” The firefighters reacted swiftly and smashed the rear window of the car, returning Brandon to his mom before anything bad happened. “They were amazing, and I think just as much as they were keeping Brandon entertained, he was equally making them laugh.”

The bombastic berg has parked near Ferryland, a remote community in Newfoundland famous for “Iceberg alley,” a stretch of its coastal waters which are frequented by Arctic visitors. At a whopping 150 feet tall, the iceberg is even larger than the one that notoriously struck and sank the Titanic in 1912. Though you won’t find Jack and Rose checking out Ferryland’s newest occupant, the village has apparently become jammed up by tourists eager to see it, and photos of the phenomenon are already adding up on social media.

Since the iceberg has reached shallow water and is currently stagnant, it’s not likely to drift away anytime soon. This could spell out big business for Ferryland, although according to residents interviewed by CBC, the town’s only 2 restaurants don’t open until the 24th of May.

Lara and Mara Bawar, both 11 years old, were born in São Paulo, Brazil, to parents originally from Guinea-Bissau in West Africa

In 2016, their unique pale features caught the attention of Swiss photographer Vinicius Terranova, who lives in São Paulo

Terranova photographed them as a personal project, which he later titled Flores Raras, meaning “rare flowers” in Portuguese

“My art represents the beauty in diversity and both the literal and symbolic extensions of empowerment,” he wrote of the project

The twins have since attracted major attention in the fashion industry, and have been signed to model for Nike, Insanis, and Bazaar Kids

“We feel albinism is pretty, we love our hair, eye colour and skin tone,” Lara told Brazilian media

Her sister Mara added that “growing up like this was amazing, we love being different and are happy with our unique beauty”

Their 13-year-old sister, Sheila, does not have albinism, but has also been signed to model with her younger siblings

“We like to see our beauty being valued by its unique aspects,” Sheila said of the fabulous family’s newfound success

The 3 sisters are now pushing 6000 followers on Instagram, a number likely to grow as more designers scoop them up

There was a lot of speculation about what went wrong during the announcement but now it’s clear that there was a mix-up of envelopes. And instead of the best picture, the presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway received an envelope with the best actress category winner Emma Stone from ‘La La Land.’

Now to make things even worse, the announcers had little-to-no indication that they received the wrong envelope because of the lousy typography used on the card. Even though it said Emma Stone on top, it clearly said ‘La La Land’ below, with only the small indication at the very bottom that it’s the best actress award.

‘Based on that card design, I’ve reconstructed the card Warren and Faye would’ve seen, the one they received’

‘That’s horrible typography. I will emphasize horrible again. Horrible. Or to be nicer, not good. Look at it again. Of course, anyone could’ve made the same honest error.’

‘Now, let’s imagine an alternate timeline where the presenters were given this modified version of the wrong card, using the same elements of the original card’

‘It may not seem like much to a regular person, but changing the sizing, positioning, and weight of the text makes a big difference. A big enough difference that this embarrassing mistake could’ve been prevented.’
