Fuku the owlet and Marimo the kitten are an adorable pair of best friends that love to hang out, play together and nap at their home in Hukulou coffee shop in Osaka, Japan. Rescued Magpie Becomes Friend With The Family That Saved Her Life

Megi7 — Thu, 19 Mar 2015 22:02:01 +0000

After being rescued and nursed back to health by a young family in Newport, Australia, a magpie named Penguin has become a regular visitor and friend at the Bloom family’s home, playing with them and coming in to hide when it rains.
Penguin was discovered flying on the ground near a library in 2013 by Noah, who is now 11. After being nursed back to health by husband and wife Cameron and Sam and their children (Reuben, 13, Noah, 11, Oli, 9), Penguin was allowed to fly free, but still returned often to spent time with the family. She plays catch, saunters through their home and even perches on their shoulders – all while Cameron Bloom takes beautiful pictures.

The bird waits for the family to leave their home before flying on her own way in the morning, and greets the kids when they get home from school; “It’s like a dog wagging its tail – she sits there in the tree and flaps her wings like she’s excited,” Noah’s father told ABC News.

“She watches tv, jumps on the tramp with the kids, flies into our bed in the morning and cuddles up”

“I never thought she’d become as much a part of the family as she has. [The kids] love her like a dog, but better”

“She’s free to fly – she often will just hang out around us in the morning then when the kids go to school she’ll do her own thing”

“If you flap your arms like wings – she’ll flap her wings”

“She spends a fair bit of time cruising inside the house, picking up the kids’ scraps and playing games. She’s pretty domesticated”

“When the kids play handball here with their friends… Penguin just flies from kid to kid, sort of gets involved. It’s pretty fun. It’s chaotic”

“If other magpies are around she’ll make a beeline for the house and fly in here so she doesn’t get bombed and pecked – they really attack her”

“A few months ago there was another baby magpie, a local one. She started playing with it and it came into the house”

“Penguin and this one were just… talking and carrying on together. It was really cool”

A Real-Life Lassie Saved His Tiny Human Friend From the Siberian Wilderness

Megi7 — Wed, 10 Dec 2014 02:26:39 +0000

Only three years old, Karina survived ELEVEN days lost in the Sakha Republic, all thanks to her loyal pup. The nameless canine hero cuddled with her for nine days, until he left to go find humans and get them to follow him back to the little girl.

Karina’s mother had thought that she’d followed her father, who had gone to his native village. With no phones to make sure, you can imagine the mother’s shock when her husband returned alone.

Once the news got out, nearly 100 people joined the search to find the girl in the bear-ridden wilderness, including hunters and special forces soldiers.

On the ninth day Karina was missing, the dog came home.

Hearts sank knowing that she was now all alone out there without her furry friend, and the rescue efforts went into full force.

Her parents worried that she’d have no one to keep her warm at night.

The search team knew that helicopters would be of no use in finding the girl in the woods or hidden in the tall grass, so they took to foot. What they didn’t know was that the pup, who seemingly abandoned the girl, would be the one to save her.

The dog led the rescuers straight to her hiding spot.

She’d nestled herself in a patch of tall grass, where it would be hard for wolves and bears to find her.

While she understandably didn’t want to talk too much about her experience, she told her parents that she’d been eating wild berries and drinking water from rivers.

She was given fresh water and some real food before they took her back to the car and drove her to the hospital

Though she was hungry and bitten-up by insects, Karina was in shockingly good condition.

Her feet were scratched from walking barefoot, but her mother could hold her safely in her arms again.

Thanks to her dog, she’s safe and sound.

Here she is in the hospital, where she’s getting small portions of food to refuel her tiny self.

What a lucky girl to have such a brave and caring friend!

There you have it, Lassie is real and lives in Siberia. Now get that girl AND her pup a nice juicy burger.

Best Friend

Megi7 — Thu, 04 Apr 2013 23:59:34 +0000

Let me quote the author of the pictures:
This is Titan, my best friend. At the age of 14 he has arthritis on his back legs and can’t walk very much anymore. He used to stay all night in the office/studio with me, keeping me company no matter what. now he can’t walk there anymore and it’s too painful to carry him, so i brought the office to him He only have less than an year of life ( said the vets)… I’m gonna give him the best year of his life!
