“Blind” Stray Cat Surprises Rescuer After Revealing Incredible Beauty Of His Eyes

Megi7 — Wed, 15 Mar 2017 14:01:21 +0000

Meet Cotton the cat who was found blind in the outdoors, got rescued, and then one day, when he opened his eyes, surprised everyone around him. “Little by little he started to gain weight. It was a nice surprise to see that he had one blue eye and one yellow eye. His hair started to grow again,” Carmen Weinberg, founder of Animal Friends Project, told Love Meow about Cotton’s incredible transformation.
The kitty was found wandering the streets in Royal Palm Beach, FL. The man who spotted the cat said that “Cotton came out of nowhere” and started eating from the bowl of food he had for his cat. He said Cotton seemed “very hungry, like if he had not eaten in days.”

The guy shared a post on Facebook, asking for someone to help the cat, when Weinberg reached out. “Early the next morning, I drove to pick him up. I took him immediately to my vet… and they confirmed that he was suffering from mange.”

The mange disease was exactly why the kitty couldn’t open his eyes, but Weinberg was set to do everything to make the feline recover – and now Cotton is one healthy and gorgeous cat! Meanwhile, Weinberg is on a mission to find this sweet cat who ‘likes to be wherever you are’ a loving forever home.

A Man Was Running In The Middle Of A Hailstorm, And The Reason Why Is Awesome

Megi7 — Thu, 06 Aug 2015 23:29:23 +0000

Hail is nothing to scoff at. Any time ice is falling from the sky, you’re better off just staying inside. Depending on the size of the hail, these storms can even be deadly.

In the middle of a recent hailstorm in Calgary, a man ran into the fray to rescue something in the street. No one understood why he’d risk getting pelted until they saw what he was doing.

As you can see, this storm was pretty serious.

But this man stepped into the relentless hail to help a creature in need.

He threw himself in harm’s way to help a little pigeon that wouldn’t have been able to escape the storm on its own.

What a lucky bird! If that man hadn’t been there, who knows what would have happened to that poor, defenseless pigeon. It’s always nice to see good people doing good deeds!

Volunteer Pilots Fly Shelter Dogs To New Homes

Megi7 — Wed, 22 Apr 2015 20:04:41 +0000

One of the biggest issues for animal shelters nation-wide is that some regions are overflowing with adoptable dogs while others never have enough. Wings Of Rescue, an extraordinary volunteer organization run by dedicated pilots, flies dogs from shelters overflowing with animals to those that can find them new homes. Often, the dogs they transport would have been euthanized hours later if it weren’t for these pilots.

The organization has saved over 12,000 dogs since 2009, when it was formed. Flights cost roughly $80 per dog, and you can donate to their cause on their website.

“We either do it or the dogs die, so the choice is clear”

“Many of the dogs are immediately adopted”

The organization has saved more than 12,000 dogs’ lives

They hope to save more than 7,000 dogs this year

Strange Sounds Were Coming From Their Wall, But They Never Expected What Was Inside

Megi7 — Sun, 15 Mar 2015 22:16:33 +0000

When a cat got himself stuck between the thick concrete walls of two buildings, it seemed like there would be no way to get him out. But when the cat’s owner called animal rescuer Nigel Williamson of Nigel’s Animal Rescue, he began a long and complicated rescue.

Cobby had wedged himself so far into the walls that there was no way he could get out.

When Williamson arrived on the scene, he drilled one hole through the 15-centimeter-thick concrete so that they could see where the kitten was.

But when his tools weren’t enough, reinforcements from the fire brigade were called to the scene.

They were equipped with tools more suited to cutting through steel beams and concrete.

The cat was exhausted from the whole ordeal…

But he eventually made it out of this very unfortunate situation, safe and sound.

Watch Williamson and the firemen work tirelessly in hopes of saving the little kitten.

Williamson says that after more than 20 years of animal rescues, this was by far the most difficult. But it was worth every drop of sweat to see the feline safe again, purring in his mom’s arms.

60 Year Old Blind Elephant Beaten By Her Owners Finally Gets Rescued

Megi7 — Mon, 09 Mar 2015 22:02:12 +0000

One of the most horrific cruelty cases witnessed in elephant abuse, Lakhi the elephant was blinded by her cruel owners & handlers and then forced to beg at various temples and small towns to earn money for her owners. Mishandled, beaten and whipped all her life, she has several injuries and wounds on her chest, forehead, ears and back. A painful swelling on the left temporal region, which is clearly visible, speaks of the torture she has undergone.

After enduring decades of abuse and neglect, the 60 year old Lakhi has been finally rescued. On 26th February, 2015, elephant was gently encouraged to walk into a special ten wheel truck that was hired for this very purpose and start her final journey to her new home.

The Wildlife SOS team will be bringing ophthalmology experts from the UK to explore the possibility of restoring vision in at least one of her eyes. This will improve her welfare considerably.

Her appearance made it clear that her diet has not been nutritious

Walking on the tar roads for years has severely affected her foot pads and toenails. Lakhi has chronic, painful injuries that have never received proper medical treatment. Adding to her pain and discomfort were the spiked chains kept consistently around her feet, which led to puncture and abrasion injuries.

She has reached her new home Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation and Care Center in Mathura where she will live her life with dignity and peace.

During the journey to Lakhi’s new home, the team decided to stop for a break and let her out of the truck to walk and stretch a little!

It Was A Routine Free Fall Dive…Until The Unthinkable Happened. This Is A MUST See.

Megi7 — Mon, 02 Mar 2015 23:19:04 +0000

If you think skydiving sounds scary, it’s a piece of cake compared to what these two men went through. A skydiving instructor and his pupil experienced a scare unlike any other in November of 2014 during a dive over Western Australia.

Twenty-two-year-old Christopher Jones dove during a training program with the Western Australia Skydiving Academy in what was an apparently a standard jump. He exited the plane at 12,000 feet in the air. It was then when the unthinkable happened.

Everything started out fine as Jones exited the plane.

However, he soon began to roll and shake in midair.

Jones began to have a seizure shortly after jumping from the plane. His instructor, Sheldon McFarlane, struggled to reach him as the two men were in free fall thousands of feet above the ground

Instructor Sheldon McFarlane watched helplessly as Jones plummeted towards the Earth.

His first attempt to grab Jones failed.

Because they were quickly dropping, McFarlane pulled his own ripcord while attempting to grab Jones again.

This time it was successful, and McFarlane was able to pull Jones’ ripcord before his own parachute opened.

The terrifying event was captured on video. Take a look and see the scary rescue for yourself.

These Puppies Were Cruelly Thrown Away

Megi7 — Mon, 16 Feb 2015 22:02:22 +0000

There’s no excuse for the cruelty so many people exhibit when abandoning a pet. Whether it’s on the side of the road, out in a field, or in a parking lot, it’s completely unacceptable when there are so many more humane options for those who feel they can’t (or simply don’t want to) take care of their animals. Two years ago, someone decided to not just abandon their 10 tiny puppies, but to do so by throwing them in a dumpster.

They were discovered in bad shape, just three weeks old, and tossed aside in boxes in Bozeman, MT. Once they were taken in by Tiny Tails K-9 Rescue, the pups were able to recover. Soon, all 10 found their way into loving forever homes.

The now-grown dogs still keep in touch with their brothers and sisters every year at a reunion birthday party held by the shelter.

They spend the day eating treats and playing games together.
