  1. Some other options are, get the “F” out of the city and go to smaller communities. P.O. Boxes are still an option for snail mail, especially in a small town. I paid $40.00 a year for mine in a town of 6,000, but a friend of mine, in a town of just 800 20 miles away, gets his P.O. Box FOR FREE! search out the village parks. No, you can’t spend the nights there, but you may be able to seek free AC power from the picnic shelters and even free drinking water from the public restrooms and leftover working drinking fountains. If you can afford to get an electric pot, then you can hard boil eggs and boil raw chicken, to eat later when the park closes. Keep a cooler in your vehicle, under blankets, and buy ice when you can. Yes, that will be difficult for the days when a major storm takes out a towns power and there a run on ice. if the local cops bug you, (And they will.), be honest with them about your situation. Even ask to pick their brains for free wi-fi, other public parks, local YMCA, and the best places to park and crash-out at night. Seek out cheap junk stores for various usable appliances, electric cookers, pots, pans, towels, deep buckets, coolers, etc. Quick parking overnight could be from gas, electric, and broadcast tower utility sites, but stay outside their gates. Move out at daylight. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending upon how you look at this, the preceding was learned by past experiences.
