DIY ’66 Nova for Hot Rod Power Tour

“I am 23 and have owned this car for almost 2 years. I have done all the work myself other then that paint job that a friend of mine did. These are mostly from the 2012 hot rod power tour. My buddy also painted that pink and black magnum for his girlfriend and we drove the 2 cars 3000 miles from Chicago to Arlington, TX and back home on the power tour. The one of inside the car is how it looks now. Pics of the engine out of the car is the 2001 corvette LS1 that is going in the car in the next few weeks.”

“My car is a 1967 Mustang Fastback, originally built in San Jose in 1966 and sold in Denver in early 1967. The car is one of 198 67 Mustangs that came with a Ski Country Special which came with ski racks, posi traction, and all terrain tires. I found the car in the local paper in 1996 and purchased it for $2800. At the time it had a 289 and the factory 3 speed manual. I daily drove the car for years making upgrades here and there. I auto-crossed the car in the early 2000’s and began more seriously drag racing it in the past few years.  I’ve also street raced it and drag raced it. The current setup is a stroked 351 that makes 570 dyno proven horsepower on pump gas (motor/drivetrain specs).”

“The car is a 1980 firebird custom. sunburst orange with red pearl paint. custom color developed by general motors for this car. interior is custom as well, dash and seats are from a 1981 trans am, door panels, headliner, and rear dash are custom and made out of swade. Engine is a 1972 Oldsmobile 455 ci big block, bored .030 over, flat top pistons, new heads, fully rebuilt heads, spent a cool 7 grand in the engine alone. backing the engine is a turbo 350 transmition, with stage 2 shift kit and 2500 stall converter. 17 inch rims with Perelli tires, alpine stereo system. car is in Calgary Canada for those of you interested in seeing it in person.”

“This is a Classic Roadster 427.  Several years ago I bought this as an unfinished kit from a family friend.  It took me about 6 months to get it ready to drive on the road.  My family and I have a great time going out for a drive in it.  The only thing missing is a Chivette to pose with it.”
