I found a pre Y2K zippo while magnet fishing today.

About a week ago I was tearing down a chimney for a rebuild and found a sketch by the original masons, from 1897. Sketch describes the chimney crown.

Found this while dismantling an old drawer, handwritten note from 1878… gold luck reading the writing though!

It was my grandma’s 95th birthday so I cooked for her. I asked her where she kept the salt and she said “I barely use salt, but if it’s there, it’s way in the back of the cabinet.” It turns out the only container of salt she has is dated from 1965!!! It worked, and salt doesn’t really expire!

In 1994, my bicycle had a flat tire. In 2020, we were cleaning my grandmothers yard and the bicycle appeared under decades of overgrowth.

WFH forced me to clean up my office where I found this unopened bottle of Orbitz. Launched 1997 and discontinued in 1998.

My folks ripped up the original front porch of their old brick Canadian house and found this 1926 edition of the Ottawa Morning Journal beneath it (in surprisingly good shape too!). Best part – my dad’s an avid collector of old newpapers.

Bought a house 10 months ago. Found today while working on the basement.

Bought one of my Aunt’s paintings off of eBay a few years ago from a random (unrelated) person in FL. No one in my family knew the backstory or title. I happened upon a box of generations old photos & cards tonight… out slid this newspaper clipping of an article and picture of the painting!

My mom was cleaning up and found a piece of paper her and my dad wrote on from before they got married in ‘86. They were together until 2011 when my dad passed.

My buddy was cleaning out his desk while at home during the quarantine, and found a $50 gift card!
