A snake-kissing Florida teen was recently rushed to a Tampa hospital after his deadly ‘pet’ snake decided to end the relationship. Austin Hatfield said his snake bit him after it apparently escaped from a pillow case, but Austin’s friends had a different account of what happened. They say that he was bitten in the face while performing one of his favorite stunts – kissing snakes.
His friend, James Belcher, claims that Hatfield kissed the snake 12 times, but on the 13th try the 4-foot reptile struck back. “We were sitting in the kitchen, and he ran out of the room saying, ‘Hospital, hospital, now, now,’”. Hatfield was hospitalized in critical condition.
This isn’t Hatfield’s first brush with being bitten by snakes. His Facebook page shows multiple pictures of him with snakes, including one of his bloody hand, posted in 2014. “Basterd bit me,” the caption reads.
Like a true Darwin Award champion.
