These days, tattooed people often take a lot of slack from the many closed minded people in our society. These people all have their own reasons as to why they don’t like tattoos, or don’t understand why people get tattoos, and they’re pretty set in their ways. However, it’s time to start thinking about all the reasons why tattooed people awesome, because there are many!
1. They think outside the box
Tattoos are often original ideas that are born from the experiences of the individual. They’re an artistic representation of who that person is and what’s important to them.
2. They’re appreciators of art
They love it enough to be the canvas.
3. They’re adventurous
If a three hour or more sitting doesn’t scare them, they’re sure to be down for anything.
4. They’re not afraid to be themselves
They don’t care about what other people think of their tattoos. My personal mantra is “I didn’t get it for you, I got it for me”
5. They’re not afraid to take risks
No matter how much research is done before getting a tattoo, it still comes down to putting all your faith into the artist; trusting them with the blank canvas that is your skin.
6. They don’t care about societal conventions
Tattooed people cast aside the negative stigma associated with tattoos; just because society says they shouldn’t be getting tattoos doesn’t mean they’re going to listen.
7. They’re not afraid of commitment
Getting a tattoo means committing to having that piece of art on your body for life. A tattoo is the only thing you take with you to the grave (aside from your secrets).
8. They wear their heart on their sleeve
They’re not scared of being vulnerable – they aren’t afraid to show the world what they are passionate about.
9. They’re proud of their past
And they tell their story through their tattoos.
10. They’re sentimental
People often get tattoos as a way to commemorate a special memory, or as a tribute to a loved one.
