Vintage Photos Show Slave Shackles Being Removed By British Sailors

Back in October of 1907 the sailors of the HMS Sphinx noticed some people in a canoe that had escaped a slave trading village in an attempt to get to their ship. The sailors took them in, removed their shackles and made them feel right at home.
