Our ship went into Subic every three months during 1970. Olongapo was full of young Filipinas willing to do anything for money. Every bar had a group of girls that would be all over a customer like white on rice. The sad part was seeing the mixed race children diving into the dirty river from the bridge between the base and the town for coins. When our ship left Subic we’d have a bunch of guys lined up at sick bay to get their clap treated. Amazing.
