Friendship Between A Little Girl And Her Cat

We Are The Same But Different
“We Are The Cats” – Photographer Andy Prokher took this amazing picture of his daughter, Katherine (Kat), and her best friend and pet, Lilu. We love it because you immediately see the love between the two with that little sparkle in the eye. There is nothing like the bond between a child and her or his pet. Although Kat has painted her face, they do look alike in a weird and artistic way, but that’s the point. They love each other and it shows.

Click, Click, Click!
“How To Make A Masterpiece” – Andy Prokh turned this photo into something that looks like a photographer taking a photo of a photographer taking a photo of a masterpiece.
It is safe to say that Kat holds a very special place in both Lilu and Andy Prokh’s hearts. Lilu seems to be mimicking what Kat’s father does, all the time and this could mean that Lilu also wants to take pictures and protect Kat just as her father does. How sweet!

 Tech Love!
“Paint It Gray” – We know that gray does not evoke feelings of sunshine and flowers, but given that Lilu brings so much happiness and laughter to Kats life, it’s east for Kat to see Lilu as colorful. With today’s technology, little kids can have the opportunity to paint and draw their favorite things on a computer and Lilu is Kat’s absolute favorite thing! The concentration on her face says it all.

 How About A Chop?
“The Barber (First Experience)” – Usually it’s a traumatic thing to know that whoever is about to cut your hair is inexperienced and that your head is going to be terrorized by a 4-year-old with scissors. However, that is not the case in this photo.
It exposes the element of trust because, as we all should know, a friendship without trust is a just a ship sailing away about to hit an iceberg. Lilu is willing to get a bald spot just to show how much she trusts Kat. Aww!

How Shall We Tackle This?
Titled “Curiosity and Caution” -Now that the Kat and her feline friend, Lilu, have formed such a tight bond and unbreakable friendship, it seems as though Andy Prokh wanted to capture that moment when it became a bit of a blurry decision on how to take on the subject at the bottom of their chairs.
For a cat, it would be the natural thing to pounce and eat the mouse. For Kat it would be to stay on the chair and hope that the mouse would eventually go away. Because of their bond and how much they’ve become like one another, which way will this turn out?

 I Can Still Hear You
This photo is called “The Song Remains The Same” – You know how you and your best friend have that one song that you absolutely love, and whenever it’s on the radio it reminds you of them?
This photo is so heartwarming in that Kat loves singing to Lilu and Lilu seems to enjoy listening to Kat singing. No matter what the song is, it will always be special because it reminds Kat of Lilu and Lilu of Kat. Bring on the tears! (sniff sniff)

 It’s Bedtime, Little One
“Vinny and the Black Cat (Bedtime Stories)” – Bedtime stories are an indication that it’s late and there is a child or children in the house that need to go to bed. This adorable picture of Kat reading to Lilu shows how much she cares about her, as a parent would for their child. The fact that she’s not actually looking at the book and reading it, shows that the two have their own language and understanding. Too adorable!

I Am The Adult Here
This one is titled “Like Mother, Like Daughter” – Considering that Lilu is Kat’s pet, it’s inevitable that Lilu would be treated like a baby at one point or another. Lilu has taken the place of a baby doll, which little girls love to put in a stroller. The “like mother, like daughter” part of it sheds a light on how Kat treats Lilu the same way her mom or dad do, because she probably does need a stroller when they’re at the mall or something.

Hurry! We Need Strong Bones!
“The Milk (Breakfast of Champions)” – This one is so cute because it shows that they do have some things in common – they both need milk for strong bones and teeth. What is even cuter is that Kat wants to be so much like her cat that she’s willing to drink milk they way it does. On the other hand, Lilu the cat is sitting at the table and drinking milk out of a glass much like a human would. The cherry on top is a picture that seems to symbolize “mom” making sure her “children” are having breakfast.
We are sure that if Lilu had the ability to lift the glass up with her paws, there’d be no hesitation.

A Reflection Of You To Me
This one was named “Paint It Funny” – Now, the word funny has a number of connotations, and it could mean hilarious, or weird, or even have undertones of sarcasm or realization. We think that this moment brings forth the idea of joy and that Lilu, the cat, is painting what she sees and knows. It’s “funny” how much Lilu sees herself in her friend and that just goes to show how close they really are to one another. Very fascinating.
