  1. RE lists of collective nouns for types of animals: Most of these words, the only place I’ve ever seen them used is on lists of collective nouns for types of animals. In practice, people seem refer to a group of any kind of birds as a “flock” and a group of any kind of grazing animal as a “herd”. Who really talks about an “exaltation of larks” or a “parliament of owls”? Do biologists use these words? Zoo keepers?
